 Indications:

  • Frontal sinusitis following ESS
  • Lateralized middle turbinate

 

Highlights:

  • Lysis of adhesions and mobilization/resection of middle turbinate
  • Removal of agger nasi cells
  • Probing and enlargement of frontal ostium
  • Optional placement of silastic stent

 

Keep in Mind:

  • Frontal sinus stents have not been proven to improve long-term patency
  • If this technique fails, a formal frontal sinus drillout (modified Lothrop) may be necessary
