 Indications:

  • Epiphora
  • Dacryocystitis
     

Highlights: 

  • Inferior turbinate can be gently medialized to allow entry into inferior meatus
  • Stenosis is incised and stone removed

 

Keep in Mind:

  • Short-term stenting of duct may be warranted until healing occurs
  • If region of stenosis is not accessible at inferior meatus then a standard DCR may be done
  • If stone suspected than imaging will often show location (CT or sialogram)
